CONDITIONS
OF SALE
1) Placing an Order
a. Mail orders must be paid for in full prior to despatch.
b. Discrepancies
in quantity or specification on telephone orders will be the customers
responsibility unless the order is confirmed in writing prior to despatch.
c. When placing
an order state product code followed by a brief description. The company
cannot except order errors if only product code or description has been
given, although every effort will be taken to ensure correct product is
dispatched
2) Payment
a. All orders must be accompanied with either cash, a cheque or details
of a current Visa, Access, Mastercard or Debit card prior to dispatch.
b. The property
of the goods will not pass to the customer until payment is made in full.
c. Orders
below £20.00 paid by debit or credit card are subject to a 40p charge.
d. Credit
accounts are payable within 30 days from date of invoice.
e. Credit
accounts not paid within 30 days of date of invoice will be subject to
a 2.5% per month late payment charge on all monies over due compound.
3) V.A.T.
a. VAT is charged at the standard rate on all items sold to a U.K. address.
Customers within the EEC will only be exempt from VAT upon production
of relevant documentation. All sales outside the EEC are VAT exempt.
b. VAT is
chargeable on cutting, cases, postage and other delivery charges.These
charges should be added to the list prices prior to calculating VAT.
4) Cutting Charges
a. Glass for delivery packed in non-returnable wooden or cardboard cases
will have a surcharge of £10 per full sheet case or £5.00
half sheet case.
b. Glass
may be cut, without charge at our discretion to facilitate packing unless
specified otherwise.
c. Small
quantities of lead may be cut into half-lengths to aid packing. If this
is not acceptable then this must be noted on the order.
5) Handling and Delivery Charges
a. Deliveries are carried out by external parcel services or postal service
these charges will be billed at cost plus case charges.
6) Unloading
a. Glass unloaded sheet by sheet is at the customers risk even if the
driver assists.
b. When ordering
glass to be delivered by an external carrier it is the customers responsibility
to ensure that facilities are available for recieving goods in the quantities
ordered, arrangements can be made with carriers etc to aid with the receipt
of goods, ie tail lifts etc, at additional cost.
7) Goods for Return
a. Goods can only be returned by prior arrangement and will be subject
to a 10% handling charge.
b. The costs
of returning goods are the customers' costs and will not be paid by the
company.
c. Refunds
can only be given on returned goods that are unused and in the condition
they were dispatched.
d. All glass
sales are final.
8) Claims
a. Any claim for faulty goods, damaged in transit or shortages must be
made in writing within three working days of delivery, and may be invalidated
by any unclear signature.
b. Any claim
will be invalidated by any unclear signature, or a signature on documentation
indicating that the goods are received in good condition.Signing delivery
notes unchecked, or similar, is unacceptable
9) Price Changes
a. Prices and specifications are subject to change without notice. Customers
will be notified of changes on receipt of order due to fluctuations in
currency etc.
10) Safety
a. All glass is sold on the understanding that the purchaser has knowledge
of and will use in accordance with the relevant British Safety Standards
at the time of purchase.
11) Ownership
of goods
a. The property of the goods will not pass to the customer until payment
is made in full.
12) Back
Orders
a. If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will
always be contacted with the option to cancel your order if you would
rather not wait.
13) Guarantee
a. Decorative Glass Supplies Ltd, neither imply or attach any guarantee
of performance or otherwise, other than that issued by the manufacturer
and only pass on such a guarantee.
b. Any disputes
will be deemed to be under UK laws as the seat of dispute.
c. Specification
may change due to legislation and safety without notice
14) Privacy Policy
a. Decorative Glass does not disclose buyer information to third parties.
15) Remittance Terms

a. Prices displayed via the online shop are not applicable to postal or
telephone mail orders and are not representative of the warehouse shop.
17) Returns
a. We operate a strict policy of no returns or exchanges. This does not
affect your statutory rights
18) Delivery
Charges
a. All delivery charges qouted are for the mainland UK only (excluding
parts of Scotland & wales). We reserve the right to alter delivery
charges to accommodate overseas transport. Please inform us if your order
is not to be delivered to a mainland UK address.
b. We reserve the right to alter delivery charges subject to market fluctuations.
